Men's Swimsuits

Let’s face it guys, when it comes to bathing suits, you are not nearly as concerned with fashion as the ladies are. This is why men’s swimwear gets significantly less attention than women’s swimwear; however, this does not mean you are without options. Indeed, there is a world beyond plain, monochromatic swim trunks and tacky, floral board shorts.
Board Shorts
The most popular men’s swimsuit is the board short.
Board shorts are a versatile short with durable fabric designed to be worn without underwear. In fact, in many beach and coastal towns, men often will forgo regular cotton shorts for the more comfortable and lighter-weight board shorts.
Not only are board shorts the swimsuit of choice for men, but they also are highly favored by athletes. This is because they protect from the skin from surfboard friction and quickly dry. Many of the companies designing surfboards also have their own lines of board shorts. Generally speaking, one is more likely to find board shorts with Hawaiian floral designs in a plethora of bright colors, but there are designs and colors for the less flamboyant surfer-dude.
Jammers
If you are involved in any sort of competitive aquatic activity, this swimsuit is a good option. Because they are made from a form-fitting nylon and a lycra-spandex blend, they help to reduce water resistance, thereby giving the wearer speed advantages. Oftentimes, swimmers, runners and surfers wear jammers. They are a much better athletic option when compared to board shorts, which are too loose and serve as a competitive disadvantage, and Speedos, which do not provide as much leg coverage.
Speedos
Although many people refer to any brief-style swim trunk as a Speedo, it is actually a brand name. Like jammers, Speedos are made from a form-fitting nylon and lycra-spandex blend. They are similar to underwear briefs and provide the same amount of coverage with an elastic lining and a drawstring cord. Speedos are the preferred suit of choice for competitive swimmers, divers and water polo players because they reduce skin drag.
Among recreational beach-goers, however, Speedos have a bad reputation. They are not nearly as popular in America as they are in European countries because many men simply do not find them fashionable. After seeing one too many sunburned, overweight, hairy men walking along the beach a Speedo, one would expect men to be skeptical about trying the Speedo.
